studying

so tomorrow is my first exam, which is english...so i have been studying quite a lot - to my parents surprise - and have picked up some study tips which really helped me.

so to start off with you have to have the perfect studying utensils, these will be different for every subject, so for me these include...
coloured highlighters
black, blue and red gel pens (gel pens are way easier to write with in exams)
led pencils
calculator - the big one as well as a small one for easy sums
eraser
white out
and coloured pencils

i find it really difficult to get into study mode so i have been allowing myself to go onto other websites or watch tv after a section of work...for example, i'll work for 1 hour then i'll watch something on youtube or some tv for 15 minutes maximum

also i have bound all my notes for subjects because in some cases, like english, i have 150 pages of notes that i need to study! this is easier if they are in a binder and in order of when they were studied. i then highlight the most important parts of these notes and then get a matching coloured post it note to that highlighter and stick it on the top or the side of the page with the subject that it is covering.

also eat and drink what suits you, i find that i don't snack when i chew gum so chewing gum whilst studying means less distraction and procrastination. and for me i find that digesting milk and other dairy products takes a long time, so i don't eat or drink these right before studying otherwise i won't be focussed.

i'm also not afraid to ask questions, the teacher's job is to teach and so if i don't know something i'm not going to fail that section of the exam, i'll ask my teacher, or my friend if they can explain it better.

i also really like going onto websites to find other methods of teaching the subject, just make sure the website was written by someone who is an expert on the topic and not someone who just has an opinion on it.

so tomorrow i start my first of 10 written exams that finish in under 2 months, i can tell a lot of chewing gum packets are going to be chewed from now until then...
